A website for a massage or wellness business

People book massage and wellness services on trust. The customer does not know you yet, and the site's job is to make the first visit easy: what will happen, how long it takes, what it costs and how to book.

Trust before the first visit

Searches are local: "massage therapist Kokkola", "sports massage", "book a massage", "massage gift card". The first questions are practical: how long is a session, what does it cost, how do I book and what should I bring.

What a massage therapist's site tells people

  • Services and durations. For instance 30, 60 and 90 minute sessions with prices. In this trade customers want to see prices, and the duration belongs on the same line.
  • Training and experience as they are. Do not write degrees or titles you do not hold.
  • Booking. A button and a phone number. Say whether you answer calls or prefer a message.
  • Cancellation terms. Briefly: the latest time to cancel and what being late means.
  • Directions: address, parking, floor and access if the place is hard to find.
  • Payment methods: say which ones you accept.
  • Gift cards, if you sell them: how to buy and how long they are valid.

What the site does not say: health claims

Describe what a session includes, not what it should cure. Leave health claims out: do not promise that complaints will improve and do not write about treatment outcomes. Say what you do, how a session goes and what the customer can say or ask. The article on writing website text helps: answer its questions about the session, not about its effects.

Booking and gift cards

If you want customers to book a time themselves on the site, there is a booking calendar add-on: from €4.90/month + VAT per resource, tiered by the number of resources. If you already use your own booking system, the site can link to it. Details are on the service page.

One practitioner, several services

One practitioner and a few kinds of session fit on one page. If you offer clearly different services, such as sports massage, massage for pregnancy and facials, a page for each helps whoever searches for exactly that and leaves room to describe the session in more detail. Town-specific pages are rarely needed, because customers come to you. Say clearly where you are. For a model of a local page see Kokkola.

The most common mistakes on a massage site

  1. The site promises health benefits or recovery.
  2. Prices are missing, or only in an image.
  3. Finding the booking takes too many steps. The fewer clicks the better.
  4. No cancellation terms, so the first cancellation turns into an argument.

Building the page

I write the text from your service list and prices and keep the descriptions to what a session includes.

One-page website €12.90/month, up to 10 pages €22.90/month and up to 30 pages €32.90/month, all + VAT. Prices with annual billing, monthly billing +€3/month. The page count includes the home page. There is no setup fee, and you get the draft free of charge before you commit to anything. The first 14 days after publication are free. If you cancel during that time, you pay nothing. The full terms and scopes are on the service page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I write which complaints massage helps?

Leave health claims out. Describe the session instead: what you do, how long it takes and how it goes.

Should prices be on the site?

Yes. Customers want to know the price before booking, and it cuts unnecessary enquiries. Put duration and price on the same line.

Do I need a booking calendar?

Not necessarily. If you take bookings by phone or already use your own system, a phone number or a link is enough. A calendar is worth it if you want customers to book evenings and weekends without a call.

Can I use photos from treatment sessions?

Use your own photos of the space and equipment. Photos of sessions always need the customer's explicit permission, and many practitioners leave them out for that reason.
